Don’t let the door hit you on the way out. o.o
I won’t hop on my soapbox about this again, but I will say that she is a definite stain on my profession. Good riddance. If you are ever treated with bias by a nurse, regardless of the country you live in, remember that we are not allowed to get away with that it. The International Council of Nurses, outlines in the Code of Ethics that :
Nurses have four fundamental responsibilities: to promote health, to prevent illness, to restore health, and to alleviate suffering.
The need for nursing is universal. Inherent in nursing is respect for human rights, including cultural rights, the right to life and choice, to dignity and to be treated with respect. Nursing care is respectful of and unrestricted by considerations of age, colour, creed, culture, disability or illness, gender, sexual orientation, nationality, politics, race or social status.
